THE ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENTS IN RADIO | The Clinic supported the Association of Independents in Radio in addressing intellectual property questions relating to its Localore project. Localore builds on the groundwork laid by AIR’s previous Makers Quest 2.0 pilot program, which was the first experiment in placing producers at public broadcast institutions in an effort to lead the industry through the transition to a diversified public media. Through Localore, ten “Lead Producers” work in collaboration with local radio and television incubators to blend digital and traditional broadcast tools and platforms, thus expanding the reach of public media in local communities and establishing new capacity for research and development at stations.
