COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS v. KAUPP | NO. SJC-10177 | Mass. June 27, 2008 | The Cyberlaw Clinic prepared this amicus brief (pdf) on behalf of the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children. The brief supported the Commonwealth’s position in a criminal case, arguing that the seven-day warrant return limit should not apply to forensic analysis of the contents of computers and that general standards of reasonableness adequately protect the timing and conduct of such analysis.
