Lucas CoverTHE ASSOCIATED PRESS | Court To Weigh Law Barring False Statements In Campaigns  | May 2, 2015  | In a piece carried by local CBS and ABC network affiliates, the Associated Press covered the upcoming arguments before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court in Commonwealth v. Lucas.  The piece highlights the amicus brief that the Cyberlaw Clinic filed on behalf of the New England First Amendment Coalition and other amici, in support of defendant, noting that “[n]ewspapers routinely carry letters to the editor, advertisements, and other forms of third-party media” and that “[u]nder one reading of (the law), a newspaper could be responsible for any and all falsehoods in those pieces.”
