The Cyberlaw Clinic received Cambridge Community Television‘s 2011 “Organization of the Year” award for its work on CCTV’s website terms and policies. CCTV offers local cable access television programming in Cambridge, MA and maintains a website that serves as a platform for dissemination of media relevant to the Cambridge community and and beyond.
Cyberlaw Clinic students provide a variety of legal information and legal services at the new Harvard Innovation Lab in Allston. Students have presented several legal workshops, open to the public, on topics of interest to i-Lab users and community entrepreneurs, including an overview of intellectual property laws and avoiding liability in online business activities; and alternative approaches to corporate formation, fundraising, innovation and intellectual property.
The Cyberlaw Clinic has counseled Media and Place (MAP) Productions on a number of issues relating to its Knight Foundation-funded startup project, Zeega. Zeega is an online tool and platform that allows users to create and share multimedia narratives. Aimed at letting users “craft immersive experiences without having to code,” Zeega promotes innovation in storytelling and a new approach to journalism, documentary arts, interactive design and social entrepreneurship.
